Architectural Steel Railings

Architectural Steel Railings

Architectural steel railings should do two jobs at once: keep people safe and make the space look sharp. We build custom railings that handle both, whether they're wrapping a front porch, climbing an interior staircase, or guarding a second-story balcony.

Everything starts with how you actually use the area. Do you need something simple and clean for a commercial stairwell, or a more detailed design that becomes a feature in your home? We walk through the layout, talk about code requirements, and then design railings that feel solid in your hand and look right with the rest of the building.

We typically work in steel for strength and durability, with pickets, panels, or mixed-material designs if you'd like to pair metal with glass from our glass division. From there, we can dress things up or keep them understated: square or round pickets, modern horizontal lines, custom caps, decorative details at the posts, or smooth, continuous top rails that feel comfortable to use every day.

Finish matters just as much as layout. We can prep pieces for paint, powder coat, or other protective finishes, so they hold up to weather, salt, and heavy traffic. For outdoor decks and balconies, we pay close attention to drainage and attachment points so water doesn't get trapped and start rusting things out from the inside.

Because these railings are custom-built, we're not forcing your project to match some catalog size. Odd angles, tight landings, uneven concrete, or older buildings with their fair share of quirks are all things we deal with routinely. We measure carefully, build to fit, and install or support your installer so the final run is straight, sturdy, and squeak-free.

If you're planning a new build, updating tired railings, or trying to solve a safety concern on stairs or balconies, we're happy to look at a sketch or a quick photo and talk through options. Our goal is simple: railings that feel rock solid, look like they belong there, and hold up for years of everyday use.
